Climbing the height of Everest

A day to remember in Tenerife

10th June 2019 – Monday saw me attempt “Everesting”, climbing 8848 m in one day. The rules state you use one climb multiple times (no loops) and no more than 2 hours rest. My chosen Tenerife road was 3.7km, 260 m elevation and average 7 per cent. Started at 3.30 am with three stops. On 34th ascent my climbing totalled at 8884 so one more to be safe. Finished at 9140m at 9pm. The locals must have thought there were several Reading Cycling Club riders around, all looking tired. This is the first post on my new blog. I’m just getting this new blog going, so stay tuned for more. Subscribe below to get notified when I post new updates.
