Sunday 14th July 2019 – five guys (Paul Gray, Jed Ellerby, Sam Elwell, Mike Fenwick and Darren Parker) set off on our longest Reading Cycling Club (RCC) fast group ride of 183 miles. Wanting to venture further as one of our special summer rides Darren had chosen a route out to Chepstow, crossing the Severn Bridge. The pace was estimated at circa 20 mph. Lunch was taken in the beautiful town of Chepstow with breaks halfway to refuel. Mike’s total for the day was 195 miles at 20.28 mph and 2522 metres of elevation. A truly epic day that we will all remember.
